Yes, it is possible to enjoy this type of food at home, and it is actually very easy to prepare. All you need is the fresh fish and its reliable source and if you don’t have the fresh fish, you can first roast it, bake it, and grill it.

Here below are some ingredients for a total serving of 6 portions within 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Rinsed short-grain sushi rice (1/3 cup)

Sushi Vinegar (1/3 tablespoon)

Rice Vinegar (1/3 tablespoon)

Sugar (5 tablespoon)

Salt (3 tablespoons)

Water (4 cups)

Salmon or sushi grade tuna (4 to 6 ounces)



Wash the rice thoroughly, drain it and place it still for about 30 minutes. Place the rice inside the rice cooker and put in 4 cups of water. Allow the water to boil, cover the pot and reduce the heat to simmer for 15 minutes. Replace the cover with a damp towel and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.

Under low heat, add the salt, sugar and vinegar into a pan and allow the salt and sugar to dissolve.

Pour the vinegar over the rice and mix. You can use a wooden bowl or the rice cooker. Allow it to cool to room temperature by leaving the lid open.

Mold the rice using hands and place the slices of fish on top.
