When you’re at work, you may be having your eyes on your coworker. Maybe they’re really funny or they have a cute smile, but the point is, you’re into them. Now, maybe you want to make a move which is totally cool, all you have to do is figure out if he’s into you. Not sure? It may be a little difficult than usual considering that you two work together. Sometimes, people hide their feelings because they’re worried about their feeling affecting their job. Can you blame them? So, if you like your coworker but you’re not sure if they like you back, here are the signs that’ll help you figure it out.
You catch him looking at you
You may not notice it but every so often you two will catch glances at each other. Well, that’s a pretty good sign that he’s into you unless you just got a bad hair cut. If someone likes you, they’re obviously going to be looking at you often. If you catch him staring at you, try to smile or wink at him – see what he does back? Does he get red and turn away? Or does he wink back? Both are solid signs that he likes you.
He talks to you during his breaks
Does he spend his coffee breaks talking to you outside or in the kitchen? If he wasn’t into you, the would try to keep the small talk down to a minimum, but he likes you, so he wants to chat with you when he can. This is a good opportunity to find out what his personal life is like. Is he single, where does he go out during the weekends, you know, information that’ll be important for you.
He notices the small things
Is that shirt new? Did you just colour your hair? Most men wouldn’t notice this change, however, he likes you, so he notices every small detail. You can see how he reacts to minor changes that you make to your appearance. Wear a different colour of lipstick or try out a different hair style. If someone notices the small details, it’s because they’re into you.
He compliments you
Now, this is pretty big. If he’s a buddy, it may not be because he likes you but is just being a friend. However, if this guy isn’t your friend but rather just a coworker, him pulling out compliments is a big deal. He didn’t have to tell you that you look nice in that shirt or that your new haircut looks good on you. In fact, he didn’t have to tell you anything. But he wanted you to know that he noticed and that he likes it. If he didn’t like it, trust me, he would be silent.
He wants to meet up out of working hours
No one wants to spend any more time with their coworkers than they have to. So, if he’s taking the extra time out of his day to spend it with you, after seeing you all day at work, that means something. Asking to hang out with you during the weekend or for happy hour is a great sign that he wants to get to know you. This doesn’t mean he likes you, but he’s certainly fishing around and seeing what you’re like out of the office. If he continues to ask you to hang out, well, then that’s a great sign that he’s into you.
He’s all over your social media
The office rules may be that you can’t be on social media during work, but he doesn’t care. He’s sending you videos on Facebook, liking your statuses, going through your Instagram – and you know because you see all his activity online. He should be working but why would he do that when he can stare at your photos instead.
He offers to help you with work
Maybe you’re really swamped with work at your desk and he wants to help. Why would anyone want to do more work? Bingo! He’s into you. He wants to help you out, relieve some stress so that he can see you relaxed at happy hour. If he’s willing to do extra work in order to spend time with you, he’s a catch.
He ignores other women in the office
If he’s single and cute, well, then you have competition. But for him, he doesn’t see that. In fact, he doesn’t see any other woman except you. Sure, other women have made passes at him, but he just shrugs it off, keeping his eye on the prize. That’s a true sign that he’s into you. If other women are throwing themselves at him and he’s dodging every one of them, well, how more obvious can you get?
He talks about you at the office
Not gossiping if that’s what you think. When we say he talks about you, he only says the best about you. Maybe he told your other coworker that he thinks you’re amazing and you know, the word slowly spreads that he’s into you. The guy doesn’t have one thing negative to say about you and that’s saying a lot. He wants you to know that he thinks you’re the best thing since lemonade, so, he won’t be letting anything negative come out of his lips.
He teases you
Is he flirting with you at the office? Are people commenting on his behaviour? If other people are noticing that he’s flirting with you, then you’re intuition is probably right -he’s into you. Teasing is a form of flirting so, he’s obviously testing the waters and having fun with the chemistry between you two. Maybe you two have some inside jokes or he has some cute nickname for you, but when you shake it down to what it is, it’s flirting. Many men show their affection in this way, so this shouldn’t come as a shock.
He introduces you to out-of-office friends
Of course, since you work together, you both know each other’s, office friends. However, what about out of the office? Do you know any of his friends? Does he know any of yours? We’re not talking about him hearing stories about them, but has he met them? If he’s already introducing you to his out-of-office friends, then you can bet that he’s into you. He wants to show you off to his group of buddies and show them how great you are. Men don’t introduce women into their group of friends unless they’re into them. Doing this is getting the “yeah, she’s cool” sign so that he can continue trying to be with you.
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they communicate with their body. You should know that 90% or communication is done through body language, so above anything else, you need to pay attention to this. Is he always standing close to you? Does he touch you? Does he lean into you when you two are speaking? Does he look at your lips when you’re talking? You should be able to see what he’s thinking about you by the way he moves around you. Pay close attention because this can be subtle but it’s a very good way to see if he’s interested in you. Body language is important so take the extra time to examine the situation.
Now that you know the signs that your male coworker is interested in you, the next time you see them, look at how they act around you. If you’re seeing a couple of these signs, then there’s a good chance that he’s into you. Now, you can either wait and let the chemistry develop, giving him time to make a move or you can be the bold one and be the one to make the first move. Do whatever feel comfortable, remember, this isn’t a race.
