If we had a dollar for every time a girl confused us, we’d all probably be rich, right? They are peculiar creatures, that’s for sure! But it’s all about paying attention to how they say what they are saying to you. Like when they say, “Aww” or “Awh”.

You just have to know what’s going on at the time of when they say it.

Perception is the key to unlocking these mysterious persons.

They aren’t as difficult as we think, as long as we know what to be on the watch for at all times.

How did she say it? When did she say it? How do you two know one another?

These are all important factors when it comes to figuring out what she meant when she said it to you.

She’s Disappointed

You may find that a girl will you hit with “aww” when she is let down by something. It does not have to be something that you have done or said. In fact, it could have nothing to do with you at all. She might just be saying it as a way to vent her disappointment.

I.e, “Aww man, the weather is so bad today. I really wanted to go outside and doing something.”

She may not say it in so many words, but do you see how she is upset about the weather and not at you?

You can’t always take something so personally, because she may mean it in an entirely different way than you assumed.

How are you supposed to tell if she’s disappointed in something other than you, especially if she doesn’t specify?

Simply ask her. There is no harm in asking her why she said it in the first place. She will not be upset with you for asking.

On the contrary, she might be appreciative that you are showing interest in what she is feeling. This gives her the opportunity to actually get what is on her mind off of her chest.

She could very well be disappointed in you, though. How can you tell?

It’s important to think about whether or not you have done something to let her down.

Did you get her hopes up about something and then not follow through?

Did you cancel a date with her?

It is all about context. What were you two discussing previously to her saying “aww”?

It could be the reason she said it. Usually a girl will not just say it with no reasoning.

She Feels Bad For You

Maybe you have won over her pity and encouraged her to respond with something like “aww”. Did something bad happen to you? Does she know about it? She may be saying it in a way like, “Aww, you poor baby.” Because she feels bad for you. She might care about you enough to invest feelings into what you are feeling. If you are hurt, she is hurt.

She could be saying it as, “Aww, I’m sorry to hear that.

At least you know she cares about the things that are happening in your life and how they ultimately affect you! That’s a good friend/girlfriend for you.

She’s Feeling Defeated

She may be losing an argument with you and has claimed defeat by saying “aww”.

As in, “Aww, whatever you win.

It may be her raising her white flag, because she no longer wants to continue whatever discussion that you are having with her. This does not mean that she has lost interest in you. Just that she has lost interest in the debate you are in.

She may just be tired and wants it to end abruptly, so she uses a neutral term.

“Aww” is neither a positive or negative thing to say, as it depends on the context.

She’s Appreciative Of Something You Did

You might find a girl saying “aww” after you have done something nice for her. She may be saying it as in, “Aww, thank you so much!

As she is taken aback by your kindness and feels grateful towards you. A lot of times when people are pleasantly surprised they will say “aww” as a form of gratification towards the other person. Some do not feel the need to add on anything else because they feel as if the tone of voice they are using is enough to tell you what they mean.

She Is Feeling Sad

Not only will she maybe say “aww” when she is disappointed, but she might say it when she is feeling sad.

She might mean it in a way that says, “Aww, I’m feeling pretty down today.

It is up to you to pay attention to the other things that she has been talking about and monitoring her mood to know whether or not she means “aww” in this way!
