Whether it is because you have a day off or you are home because you are feeling under the weather, we all have days where we are stuck home by ourselves. At first it might be a little fun. Really, who doesn’t love spending some time home alone? You get to raid the fridge, take an extra long shower with no one to save hot water for or you might even get to walk around naked for awhile. But that excitement wears off pretty quickly and cable/Netflix can only entertain you for so long. So what are you supposed to do when the boredom really kicks in? That is a great question and that is exactly what we are here to help you with! There are plenty of things that you can do when you are home and all alone. Take a look below to see just what they are!

  • Workout: Yes this might not be the most exciting thing to do, but it is a good thing to do. Working out has a lot of different benefits. Of course this isn’t exactly easy to do if you aren’t feeling so hot. Like if you are home with a cold. However, if you are just home alone and bored this is a perfect option for you.
  • Bake: Something: Baking is such a fun way to let out your artistic side, but also a great way to reward yourself for being artistic. Why? Because you get to create and then eat your wonderful creation! Unless, you are not much of a baker. You might be screwed then.

  • Paint: If you aren’t much of a baker, but you still feel like being creative then this is a great choice for you to partake in. You can paint a bowl of apples, your cat or even yourself! At least you will have something to show for your day home alone when it is over.
  • Write: Okay so maybe you are not that artistic, but you are still up to doing something creative. What can you do in that case? Writing something is always a good option. You could write a poem, a romance novella or even just some silly fanfiction. It will surely keep you busy for quite awhile.

  • Movie Marathon: Maybe it’s been awhile since you just kicked back and relaxed while watching your favorite movie series. What’s it going to be today? Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and The Matrix are all great series.
  • Scrapbook: So you have a drawer full of mementos and pictures, but you were never sure what to do with them before. Here’s your chance to finally do something about all the clutter once and for all.
  • Read: Television might not be your thing, but you can definitely use your eyes for other things. Such things like reading. Whether you prefer magazines or books is up to you. Heck you could even go online and read articles! Just keep yourself occupied by reading for awhile and you’ll have a nice, peaceful day at home alone.
  • Learn An Instrument: You can definitely be productive on your day home alone by putting your energy into learning something new, like an instrument! Take time to finally brush off the dust on that piano in the corner of your house and learn a melody.
  • Plan Your Future: Now would be a great time to sit down and get your life together. Literally. You can finally file all the papers that you need in the right places or plan for your next vacation. Your future is in your hands at this point!
  • Clean: You know that Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be done only in Spring, right? Being home alone provides good grounds to start cleaning out your closets!
  • Pamper Yourself: Being home by yourself means that you don’t have to worry about anyone seeing you wearing an ugly face mask. Have an at home spa day and pamper yourself to the fullest extent you possibly can.
  • Play Games: You might have not picked up a video game controller in a long time or you are letting your gameboy collect dust in the closet. If that is so, now is the time to get back into the rhythm of things and start playing games again! Trust us, it will be fun.
  • Rest: Now is a great time to catch up on your beauty rest! Especially if you lead a very busy life. There is nothing wrong with just sitting around being lazy when you have the chance to.

  • Garden: Remember how you thought about starting your own herb garden that one time? Well, now is the time to do it! All you have to do is have the right amount of supplies… And motivation.
  • Cook Something New: Now is the perfect opportunity to put your culinary skills to the test. You can finally work on all of those new recipes you  have saved on Pinterest.
  • Groom Your Pets: So Fido hasn’t been brushed in a while and he definitely needs his nails filed. Well, since you are home alone and bored now would be an awesome time to give him the love and attention he needs.

  • Dance: So you think you can dance, huh? Well, let’s see about that! Practice some new dance moves or even have a solo dance party by yourself.
  • Yoga and Meditation: Need to use this time to relax? Good, that means that you can try out some yoga or even meditation. This will not only relax you, but it will also bring you great peace of mind.
  • Sing: It might be a little embarrassing to sing in front of other people, but since you are home alone you can finally let those vocal cords go. Practice your scales, sing your favorite tunes or even make a video of yourself singing just for fun!
  • Practice Your Selfies: We all need that one perfect pose with that one perfect angle, right? Now is your time to practice your selfie taking skills until you are once again bored to the bone.
